Roberta F. Henderson, an 80-year-old resident of Jamesport, died on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011 at the Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin.

Funeral services will be held a 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at the Jamesport Baptist Church. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery near Jamesport.
General visitation is under way at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Jamesport, where a family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 o’clock this evening (Monday, Feb. 21, 2011).
Mrs. Henderson was born on April 2, 1930 in Jamesport, the daughter of Earl and Mattie Whitt Stevens. She grew up in the Gallatin area, where she attended school until her family moved to Carlow. She transferred to Jamesport and graduated from high school there in 1948. She was married on May 22, 1948 at Gallatin to T.W. Henderson, who preceded her in death in 2001. The couple made their home on a farm south of Carlow, where they operated a dairy business. She was a homemaker and worked beside her husband in the dairy. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She also had a dog kennel and raised and sold all breeds of dogs for many years. In later years she became interested in genealogy. She also enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of the Jamesport Baptist Church, where she served and worked in any capacity needed.
She is survived by a son, David Henderson, and his wife, Terri of Trenton; four daughters, Carolyn Sharp and her husband, Jerry, and Nancy Smith and her husband, Troy, all of Jamesport, Janet Adams of Trenton and Lisa Smith and her husband, Bret of Eagleville; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Mildred, Margaret, Mary Lou, Dorothy and Bertie Virginia; and a brother, Lee Sevens.
