THS FFA Chapter Celebrates FFA Week

The Trenton FFA chapter will celebrate National FFA Week with several activities Feb. 20-25.

Events begin on Feb. 20 with “FFA Sunday” at the Shelburne Baptist Church, which is the home church of the current FFA president, Courtney Leeper. Members will attend services in official dress and will be guests of the church for lunch.
Monday, Feb. 21 will be a recreational activity for members, who will meet at the ag building at 10:15 a.m. to travel to Chillicothe for bowling.
“Dress Like a Hick Day” will be observed on Tuesday, Feb. 22, with members also serving ice cream to students during the lunch shift. Greenhand Initiation will be held that evening for all Ag Science I students, who are to meet in the ag building by 7:30.
Members will be wearing official dress to school on Wednesday, Feb. 23, with FFA officers presenting the “Food for America” program to fourth grade students at the Rissler Elementary School. The Greenhand Degree Ceremony will be that evening at the high school commons, beginning at 6 o’clock. Members are to be there no later than 5:30.
Thursday, Feb. 24 will be “Wear Your FFA T-Shirt Day,” with members wearing their official club t-shirt. Members will also be driving their truck or tractor to school, which is to be parked in the middle school front parking lot on the south side. A judging contest will be held and entries are to be in place by 7:30 a.m. in order to be judged.
On Friday, Feb. 25, members will “Dress Like a Cowboy or Indian.” FFA members will be serving an appreciation breakfast to community members from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the ag building. Pizza will also be served to FFA members who have participated in at least three FFA Week activities and work their official dress.
Brook Kreatz and Neal Wolf are the Trenton FFA sponsors. FFA officers include Courtney Leeper, president; Loren Fox and Alexis Whitney, vice presidents; Shelby Chaney, treasurer; Sam Hudson and Kelsey Moulin, reporters; Riley Glidewell, sentinel; and Patrick Harrison, chaplain.
