Ruth Marie Needels, a 91-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at the Lee’s Summit Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011 at the Princeton Christian Church, Pastor Gary Watkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Princeton Cemetery.
General visitation is under way at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel at Princeton, where a family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 o’clock tonight (Monday, Feb. 14, 2011).
Mrs. Needels was born on July 8, 1919 in Princeton, the daughter of Raymon and Hattie B. Nordyke Stacy. She lived almost all her life in  Princeton, graduating in 1937 from Princeton High School. She worked as a secretary at Grand River Telephone Company for many years. She was a member of the Princeton Country Club, the Red Hat Ladies, Beta Sigma Phi and the Princeton Christian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge.
She was married on Jan. 4, 1941 to Romaine “Zeke” Kious, whom she later divorced. She was married on Oct. 12, 1969 to William R. Needels, who preceded her in death on April 18, 1980.
She is survived by two sons, Grant Kious and his wife, Karen, of Raytown and John Kious and his wife, Linda, of Kansas City; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a brother, Eugene Stacy; a half-sister, Irene Walsh; and an infant son, Robert Eugene Kious.
