The Spickard City Council met on Tuesday night, hiring a part-time water/wastewater supervisor and changing the way taxes are collected.

City Clerk April Meighen said Kurt Meighen will begin his new duties as water/wastewater supervisor in the near future. The council also agreed to have the Grundy County Collector’s office collect city taxes, beginning in 2012.
The date for the March council meeting will be announced at a later time.
