The Grundy County Friends of the Arts has announced its next program, which will be held on Saturday evening, Feb. 26 at the First Christian Church in Trenton.
Paul Saik Returning To Trenton For Program
Appearing at 7 p.m. will be Paul Saik, a gifted vocalist, pianist and organist who will lift your spirits with his voice as well as his expertise on the piano and organ.
Performance tickets for this event will be $8 at the door. Friends of the Arts season ticketholders as well as NCMC students with proper ID will be admitted free. Students (ages 13-18) will be admitted for half-price; children (ages 12 and under) will be admitted free.
Saik believes every life has a purpose and he is living his purpose with every breath and step he takes. From the time he was a small child, Saik has touched the lives of many with his talents and love of music. A native of Jackson, MS, he began playing piano at age 3 and spent much of his time performing in church. His first church position came at the young age of 13 as the church pianist at First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. He quickly developed a love for church music and started playing the organ at age 16.
Saik studied piano and organ at Mississippi College and received a bachelor of music degree in piano, winning several awards and competitions. He also studied abroad at the University of London, received a masters of music degree in church music and organ from Baylor University and won several vocal competitions in the Texas NATS.
His talent has taken him from Brentwood, TN, where he was the recipient of the Christian Artist Fellowship at the Brentwood United Methodist Church, to where he now resides in Boise, ID and is the Artist in Residence at The Cathedral of the Rockies in Boise.
Saik has seven albums to his credit. A versatile singer, he has performed throughout the United States and around the world. But, after many years of performing on some of the largest stages in the world, he has realized his real passion is his “first love,” that of sacred music, and he has been fulfilling his passion ever since. His concerts are a unique journey through his life as he performs various styles of music. Persons attending the concert will hear everything from Broadway to gospel with some great piano and organ playing in between.
