Joetta D. Burkeybile, a 71-year-old Trenton resident, died at 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton. Burial will be in the Goshen Cemetery near Princeton.
A visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at the church. Open visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mrs. Burkeybile was born on Dec. 15, 1939 in Princeton, the daughter of Elmer and Dora Oliver McLaughlin. She graduated from Trenton High School and attended the Draghn Business School in Kansas City.
Mrs. Burkeybile had been a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church prior to being a member of the Crandall United Methodist and recently a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. She had served as church treasurer, secretary, Sunday school teacher, youth director and any other position needed by the church.
She was married on Aug. 21, 1960 in Trenton to Robert Burkeybile, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by a son, Randy Burkeybile and his wife, Kim of Higginsville; a daughter, Jennifer Rolen and her companion, Victor Tunnell of Galt; a brother, Thomas McLaughlin and his wife, Bonnie of Marceline; three sisters, Carol Thomas and her husband, Frank of Albany, Marylin Ruth Wynne and her husband, Benny of Dallas, TX and Shirley Jarnagin and her husband, Ray of Trenton; four grandchildren, Devyn and Kristen Burkeybile, Lael Rolen and Jodee Tunnell; an aunt, Mary Coon of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Goshen Cemetery.
