Ronald Lee Dennis, a 78-year-old resident of rural Cainsville, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Pastor John Michael will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. Paul Cemetery, located northwest of Princeton
Open visitation and viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel, where a family visitation is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday.
Mr. Dennis was born on the family farm near Cainsville on Feb. 24, 1932, the son of Glenn David and Merle Finney Dennis. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1950 and had lived on the family farm near Cainsville his entire life except for the four years he served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Swenson.
He was married to Dorothy L. Jones on Aug. 24, 1952. She survives of the home.
Mr. Dennis was a retired mail carrier, farmer, heavy equipment operator and welder, having welded the metal building that houses the Pepsi Bottling Plant in Albany. He was a member of the Cainsville American Legion Post #257, Rural Letter Carriers Association and had served on the Mercer County Board of Selective Service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David Dennis and his wife, Paula of Princeton; a daughter, Sandra Dennis of Cainsville; and five grandchildren, Glenn, Ellen, Jack and Nancy Dennis and Sassy Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
