Max Hamby, a 90-year-old Trenton resident, died at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will follow in the Willis Chapel Cemetery, north of Brimson.
Open visitation will begin after 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011. There is no family visitation planned.
Mr. Hamby was born on Feb. 6, 1920 at Brimson, the son of Herbert B. and Martha Boon Hamby. He was raised and attended school at Brimson. After school he went to California to work for two years before he was drafted into the Army Air Force. After his discharge he returned to Brimson.
He was married to Deva Bulyar in 1948 at Clinton, AR. They farmed all their married lives in the Brimson community.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Deva Hamby of the home in Trenton; a son, Rex Hamby and his wife, Betty of Brimson; a daughter Janet Brown and her husband, Darrell of Trenton; four grandchildren, Drake and Jake Brown, Natalie Kilman and Brandon Hamby; and four great-grandchildren, Corda and Emma Brown, Lauren Fastenau and McKenzy Kilman.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cheryl Rose; a sister, Sylvia Davidson; and two brothers, Ralph and Kenneth Hamby.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to be given to the Willis Chapel Cemetery.
