The commission approved a total of $13,440 in additional expenses. The original budget showed a deficit of $187,536.47 and that number has increased to a deficit of $200,976.47. However, Grundy County Clerk Kristi Urich said county revenue is higher than anticipated and although that number won’t be known until next week, when the budgeted funds not spent are added in, the budget should be in the black at the end of the year.
The amendments approved today include increased expenses of $690 for General Revenue; $6,100 for the Grundy County Law Enforcement Center (due to housing more prisoners than anticipated); $1,250 in the Local Emergency Planning Committee budget (which was spent on training); $700 for the Sheriff’s Revolving Fund; $4,000 for the Civil Fee Fund, which is used by the sheriff’s office and did not have any funds budgeted to be spent); and $700 for 911.
