Local entities have announced more filings for positions to be filled in the April 5 election.
More Filings For April Election
Kevin Bailey of 547 SW Hwy WW has filed for re-election to the R-9 School Board. He currently serves as board president and his term will be expiring, along with the terms of Terry Spillman and Tracy Utley. Bailey is the first person to file for the R-9 Board.
Rickey E. Mason of 503 E. 19th St. has filed as a candidate for second ward councilman, a two-year position currently held by Joe Foster. Filing on Monday for the council were Paul Bruinsma, Brian Hamilton and incumbent Jim Norris in the first ward and incumbent Jim Bush in the fourth ward. Filing for the four-year term of mayor were incumbent Cathie Smith and former mayor Dr. Nick McHargue.
Filing for school, city, nursing home, township and special road district positions continues through Jan. 18.
