As requested, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
An open visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton, where the family visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday.
Cremation will follow with inurnment of the cremains, at a later date, in the St. Paul Cemetery, northwest of Princeton.
Mrs. Lamphier was born on Sept. 4, 1919 in Sheldon, the daughter of Warren and Bessie Bartlett Lindley. She was raised in Sheldon, where she graduated from high school.
Mrs. Lamphier was married on Sept. 13, 1939 at Lamar to Maurice Avery Wileman, who preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1970. They moved with the family from Springfield to Princeton, where she was owner and operator of several restaurants, beginning with the Street Car Cafe. She enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, crafts and spending time with her family.
Beth was a member of the Princeton United Methodist Church.
She was married on Sept. 30, 1979 to Carroll Cochell Lamphier, who preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1998.
She is survived by a grandson, Dean Wileman and his wife, Christy of Pleasant Hill; a daughter-in-law, Kay Wileman of Princeton; two great-grandchildren, Jordan Allee and Bailey Christopher Wileman; one brother, Harold Clinton Lindley and his wife, Arlene of Leawood, KS; one sister, Betty Anne Dockery and her husband, Calvin Dean of Sugar Land, TX; a friend who was like a daughter, Sharon Clingingsmith and family of Princeton; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Nancy Carol Wileman; her son, William Wallace “Bill” Wileman; two brothers, George Howard and Robert Warren Lindley; and one sister, Lurline Ford.
