According to Firefighter Eric Lorenz, the fire was at the Joe O’Handlon residence at 114 N.W. Auk Ln. A wood pile measuring approximately 10-feet-10-feet and six feet high caught fire, most likely from a spark from an outdoor wood stove. With the help of O’Handlon and his bulldozer, firefighters were able to spread out the wood and be sure that the fire had been extinguished on all pieces. While no structures were involved, Lorenz said there was a shop building and propane tank in the vicinity. An older flatbed wagon that also had wood on it was burned.
Firefighters responded to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. and were there for about two hours.
