Maysville Tops Tri-County Boys

The Tri-County boys were handed their second-straight loss to open the season Wednesday night as they fell 53-36 to Maysville in the consolation semifinals of the Gallatin Tournament.
A 21-11 run by Maysville in the third quarter ended the Mustangs’ hopes and the Wolverines cruised through the final frame to send Tri-County to the ninth-place game.

“Turnovers hurt us badly in the game,” Mustangs’ Head Coach Chad Sullenger said. “We’re going to have to cut the turnovers down if we’re going to be able to beat anyone.”
Jake Cook tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Mustangs, who also got 13 points and four rebounds from Gary Eads.
The Mustangs, now 0-2, will face Winston in the ninth-place game on Friday at 5:45 p.m.
