Lady Pirates
The North Central women used solid post play to carry them through an off-shooting night. On a night when the outside shots were not falling, Ashley Zeih and Jordan Ewigman did enough in the paint to keep the Lady Pirates ahead on the scoreboard. Zeih finished with 16 points and Ewigman scored 13. NCMC also got 10 points from Courtney Ray.
“I felt like we never really got in the flow of our offense,” Lady Pirates’ Head Coach Jenny Croy said. “(Southwestern) did a good job of controlling the tempo of the game and slowing us down.”
The Lady Pirates are now 6-2 and ranked 19th in the NJCAA Division II poll.
Pirates
The North Central men played a great defensive game, but couldn’t find a way to score points as they fell by 22 points. JaWan Davis was the only Pirate in double figures with 11 points.
The NCMC men are now 2-4 on the season.
NCMC is back in action on Friday as they return home to the Ketcham Community Center to host the Missouri Valley junior varsity. Women’s action begins at 5:30 p.m. and the men will follow. The North Central women will play tonight in Fayette against the Central Methodist JV.
