The Lyle V. McLaughlin Scholarship is awarded to full-time, civil engineering students in the College of Engineering. Recipients must maintain a 2.5 GPA and reside in Sullivan, Grundy, Mercer or Putnam County.
Kasinger, who graduated from Trenton High School in 2007, is a senior majoring in civil engineering. He is the son of Kevin and Jerri Lynn Kasinger.
He is the vice president of the MU Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a global network of civil engineers dedicated to improving society’s infrastructure. He also is a member of the MU Steel Bridge Team, a group of civil engineering students who compete in bridge-building competitions, and a member of Chi Epsilon, the national civil engineering honor society.
