Henrietta Stamper, a 70-year-old resident of Spickard, died on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at Bethany, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Henrietta was born in Spickard, the daughter of Henry and Mabel Crawford Christowski. She graduated from Spickard High School. On July 2, 1983 she married Ben Stamper, who survives her of the home.
Henrietta retired from US Bank in 2004 after 42 years in banking. She was involved with many organizations and served many years as treasurer of the Spickard Alumni Association. Henrietta’s favorite pastime was spending time with her family.
Henrietta is also survived by two daughters, Kriste and her husband, Russell Place, of Norwalk, IA and Julie and her husband, Marty Prewitt of Bethany; one son, Howard Stamper and his wife, Deb of Liberty; five grandchildren, Leslie and her husband, Dan Merriman, and Russell Place of Norwalk, Jessica Prewitt of Bethany and Lili and Paulina Stamper of Liberty; one great-grandson, Tanner Merriman of Norwalk; and one brother, Henry Christowski of Norwalk. Henrietta was also survived by her brother and sisters-in-law, whom she loved very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, also north of Trenton.
A visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Open visitation is under way at the funeral home.
