Virgil E. McCulley, a 65-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 at the Lindley Funeral Home at Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Wheeling Cemetery at Wheeling.
An open visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 and on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. McCulley was born on Nov. 5, 1944 in Princeton, the son of Earnest Robert and Ethel Mae Wendt McCulley. He graduated in 1962 from Newtown High School. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from January 1963 to January 1966.
He attended the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe and worked at the Barnes-Baker service department from 1969 to 1979. He worked at Donaldsons from 1978 to 2007, when he retired. He was a member of UAW Local 710 Teamsters and was on the city Council at Wheeling. He served two terms on the Wheeling School Board and was president during his last term.
He was married on June 5, 1965 in Rayville to Nancy Jeanette Holloway, who survives of the home.
He is also survived by two sons, Tim McCulley and his wife, Monica, of Braymer and Mark McCulley of Chillicothe; a daughter, Tracy Smith and her husband, Steve, of Chillicothe; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Gary McCulley and his wife, Debbie, of Browning; and two sisters, Betty Holloway of Belton and Mary Carroll of Unionville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
