The Laredo Junior High School Basketball Tournament kicked off with four games on Monday night. Pleasant View R-6 and Bishop Hogan faced off in the first two games and Laredo and Chula played in the last two games.

The Pleasant View girls fell to Bishop Hogan 29-21,in the first game. Maggie McNabb led the Lady Blue Jays with 13 points. Bishop Hogan was led by Carly Carlton, who had 11 points. Bishop Hogan topped Pleasant View in the boys game as well, 34-24. Adam Kirby led Pleasant View with 10 points while Shayler Keller led Bishop Hogan with 15 points.
The Laredo girls defeated Chula 16-14. Emily Milazzo led the Lady Tigers with 10 points, while Chula was led by Erin Campbell, who scored six. The boys game saw Chula top Laredo, 39-14. Laredo got eight points from Seth Riddle and Chula was led by Brandon Eckert, who scored 10 points.
