The Princeton Tigers moved to 2-0 in district play as they defeated the Putnam County Midgets 34-14 on Friday night in Unionville.

Princeton went back-and-forth with Putnam in the early stages of the game, trading touchdowns twice with the Midgets before taking a 20-14 lead late in the first half. The second half belonged to the Tigers as they put the ball in the end zone two more times while holding the Midgets scoreless.
Vance Purdun again put up big numbers for the Tigers, carrying the ball 34 times for 170 yards and two touchdowns. Purdun also caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Brycen Stark.
With the win the Tigers moved to 8-1 on the season and 2-0 in district play.
Princeton returns to the field on Friday when they play host to the Marceline Tigers at Eddie Allen Field in Princeton. On the line will be a district championship.
