The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced plans to close the intersection of Ninth and Main streets on Monday, Oct. 25 in order to do resurfacing and concrete replacement work.

District 2 maintenance supervisor Frank Allen said the area would be closed to traffic from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Traffic coming from the east on Ninth Street will be re-directed to Washington Street while traffic coming from the west will be directed to Cedar or 10th streets. Traffic coming from the north on Main will be redirected west onto 10th Street while traffic coming south on Highway 6 will be redirected to Eighth Street and back onto Ninth from Washington Street. Large truck traffic coming south on Highway 6 will use Seventh Street to Monroe Street.
Allen said that MoDOT personnel will be located along the route to direct traffic during the work period. People are also asked not to park on Washington Street between Seventh and Ninth streets during this time period.
