The Pleasant View R-6 Board of Education met Wednesday evening, hiring a paraprofessional and issuing an extra-duty contract.

According to information provided by Superintendent Tiffany Otto, the board voted to hire Jessica Parsons as an Early Childhood Special Education private paraprofessional. In addition, Shani Kinney was issued a contract to serve as fifth and sixth grade basketball coach.
In other business, the board heard an update on the upcoming science fair from Naomi Meinecke, reviewed board policy updates, heard an update on finances in regard to transportation and the ECSE program and heard an update on the kitchen and buses. Board members reviewed the final APR with no changes and reviewed the kindergarten enrollment policy as well as information on an eMINTS grant opportunity. The board also watched the October MSBA board report and learned that the final audit report has not yet been received.
In addition to the personnel items already mentioned, the board also discussed a student matter in executive session.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 9.
