Logan Leek, a 90-year-old former Liberty resident, died at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 at Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Burial will be in the Humphreys Cemetery in Humphreys.
A visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. until service time on Sunday. Open visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010.
Mr. Leek was born on Jan. 19, 1920 in Rockbridge, the son of Charles Markey and Melinda Jane Alsup Leek. He was married on Oct. 23, 1960 to Helen Humphreys, who preceded him in death on June 27, 2002. They had lived in Chillicothe before moving to Springfield and then to Liberty.
Mr. Leek served with the United States Army during World War II and worked for Guy’s Food for 29 years as a driver and warehouse foreman until retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving relatives include his daughter, Linda Steed of Yucaipa, CA; a sister, Lola Steiner of St. Joseph; a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Glidewell of Gladstone; a sister-in-law, Lois Leek of Blue Springs; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two step-sons, Gary and Jerry Lee Glidewell; a sister, Lois Leek; and three brothers, Jesse Wayne Lemuel, and Charles Leek.
