Pirates’ Baseball Team Announces Recruits

Donnie Hillerman, head coach of the North Central Missouri College Pirates baseball team, has announced that the 2010-2011 team will return a solid core of players from last year.

“Several returning Pirates saw significant playing time as freshmen and will be leaned on for both leadership and production going into the 2011 season, and we are excited to announce a talented group of incoming freshmen that should make for a successful 2010-2011 campaign,” Coach Hillerman said.
Incoming freshmen pitchers include lefthanders Mitch Seward from Butler and Payton Rhoads from Columbia. Righthanders are John Costello from Eureka; Zach Crutcher from Moberly; Drew Mathewson from Rushville, IL; Casey Savage from St. Louis; and Austin Warren from Lone Jack.
Incoming position players include infielders Austin Baldwin from Nevada; Xavier Lewis and Jordan Strawn from Columbia; Andrew Stoafer from Leavenworth, KS; and Jojo Taisi from Independence. Outfielders are Curtis Hick from Columbia; Alex Porter from Marion, KY; Dylan Snow from Camdenton; and Preston Stewart from Kirksville. Augie Begemann from Ashland is a freshman catcher.
Returning NCMC pitchers include righthanders Trevor Jones, Aaron Maner, Carlos Mercado, Seth Spencer, Jacob Stamp, and Gatlin Wiggans and lefthander Austin Burgert. Other returners include infielders Isaac Cater and Andrew St. Pierre; outfielders Colby Shepherd and Nate Lachnit; and catchers Michael Campbell and Travis Green.
