The Grundy County Commission has awarded engineering services for several Community Development Block Grant bridge projects.

According to Grundy County Clerk Kristi Urich, the commission will be contracting with Benton and Associates for oversight on the projects. By having an engineer oversee the projects, the county will become eligible for “soft-match” credits that can be used on federal Bridge Replacement Off-System (BRO) projects. The firm will be providing oversight on at least two and up to six bridges, with the cost, which is based on the number of hours, expected to be in the $25,000 range.
