The Princeton City Council approved several items for the Calamity Jane Days celebration during its meeting held Monday evening.
Princeton Council Approves Items For Festival
According to City Clerk Keri Stamper, the council approved service contracts with Donna Herdrich of the Princeton Chamber of Commerce for Calamity Jane Days, as well as caterer’s permits for beer gardens for Jeff Powers, Todd Grooms and Steven Mason from Sept. 17-19. It was agreed to close down the area from Main Street to Hickland during the festival.
In other business, the council agreed to rent the fair building to Clint Vanderpool for a consignment auction on Sept. 11 and agreed to look at maintaining a ditch near the school for Jane Schroeder. A building permit was approved for William Woodward, who is constructing a garage at Truax and Markey. Council members also approved the annual conflict of interest ordinance and agreed to put Kurt Meighen, a new council member, on the signature card.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.
