Princeton Fireworks On Saturday

The Princeton Chamber of Commerce has rescheduled its entertainment and fireworks display that were postponed due to rain on July 4.

The event will be held Saturday, with the program starting at 8 p.m. on the Princeton School grounds. The chamber will provide free watermelon and Calamity’s will give away 120 free ice cream cones. Rev. Alan Hubbard will open the program with prayer, followed by Miss Calamity Jane 2009 Felicia Bertrand performing the National Anthem. Scheduled performers include The Dance Studio, the bell choir of the First Christian Church of Princeton, Kathleen Young, Brad Bruse, Jennifer Brown, Janet Searcy and Alan and Carol Hubbard, who will close the program with a piano and trumpet duet of patriotic songs. The fireworks will begin at approximately 9:20 p.m. Glen Kirby, professional pyrotechnician, will detonate the fireworks on the football field. Onlookers are requested to stay on the upper level of the school campus. Restrooms will be available at the Stacy Center.
