The bed turning demonstration includes quilts being placed on a bed, with each quilt then turned, evaluated, and held up for the audience to see. The bed turning is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the middle level of the main museum building.
Annabel Baugher, a local quilter with state and national recognition, will examine quilts, identify patterns and comment on construction of quilts from the museum’s collection as well as any quilts brought in that day by museum visitors. Anyone with questions about a quilt is invited to bring their quilt to the museum on Saturday.
The museum is open weekends and holidays from 2 to 5 p.m. Admission for all three museum buildings is $2 for adults and children under 12 are free. Individual and group tours may be arranged at other times by contacting President Bob Chenoweth or any museum board member.
The museum is seeking two items to complement existing exhibits: a WAC uniform and a lace curtain.
