Robert “Bob” Tipton, a 79-year-old Trenton resident, died at 6:28 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at his home, where he was under hospice care.

The body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton.  Rev. Barry Boulware will officiate. Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Tipton was born on Feb. 2, 1931 in Des Moines, IA the son of Kenneth Hubert and Katherine Elizabeth Thomas Tipton. He was married to Beverly Menefee on Oct. 26, 1950 in Harrisonville, AR. She preceded him in death on April 26, 2006. They owned and operated Donoho’s Home Furnishings in Trenton. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Trenton.
Mr. Tipton is survived by one son, Stephen Tipton and his wife, Kim of Alpharetta, GA; two daughters, Sarah Tikey and her husband, Bill of Scottsdale, AZ and Patricia Lenhart and her husband, Wendell of Trenton; one sister, Shirley Mae Summers of Elgin, IL; eight grandchildren, Adam, Emily, Corbin and Barrett Tipton, Rachel and Becca Tikey, Andy Akers and Katie Lenhart; four great-grandchildren, Jacob and Luke Tipton and Ava and Ace Akers;  and his companion, Denise Turner of Trenton.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Ann Robbins.
