The board approved the 2010-2011 budget, but information provided by Superin-tendent Dennis Croy did not list anticipated expenditures and revenues and Croy was not available today to provide that information. The board also closed out the books for the 2009-2010 school year.
Croy reported on the transportation situation for a student who attends Milestones Academy in Kansas City. After an executive session, the board signed contracts for Robert Cummings, who will provide transportation for that student and for Sue Hill, a paraprofessional.
Bids for several items were approved. The bid for bread was awarded to Jamesport Grocery, with Anderson-Erickson Dairy receiving the milk bid. Landes Oil and MFA were awarded bids for fuel, while Missouri Gas Utilities was awarded the natural gas bid.
Croy gave a brief report on the work going on at the school and reported on school activities and improvements being made to the buildings. He also updated the board on Title I funding.
In other business, service contracts were offered to Greg Terwilleger as occupational therapist/physical therapist, and Judith Stith, Parents as Teachers. The board also approved the painting of the Mustang logo on the new water tower. The board also gave permission to the senior class to work at Worlds of Fun as a fundraiser.
Board members scheduled the summer picnic for Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. and scheduled a special meeting for June 16 at 6 p.m.
The next regular meeting is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 13.
