Superintendent Rob Deaver reported that the board amended the 2007-2008 budget to reflect actual expenditures. Projected final revenues for the year are approximately $2,375,545 and expenditures for the year were $2,179,176, showing revenues exceeding expenditures by approximately $196,369.
The 2008-2009 budget reflects anticipated revenues of $2,217,673 and projected expenditures of $2,240,749 for a projected deficit of $23,076. Deaver said the deficit can be attributed to a declining student enrollment and the associated revenues, rising fuel and food costs and an increase in employee salaries and benefits.
In other business, the board discussed policy updates, tabling action until a later meeting, and approved continued participation in the A-Plus Program. It was announced that the district office will be closed Tuesday, June 24 through Friday, June 27.
A closed session was held to discuss personnel, with no announcement to be made. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 10.
