The 2008-2009 budget was approved, as were several bids, during a meeting held Tuesday evening by the Tri-County R-7 Board of Education at Jamesport.

According to information provided by Superintendent Dennis Croy, the board approved a budget that shows anticipated revenues of $2,583,092, while expected expenditures total $2,582,047. A special meeting was set for 7 p.m. June 30 to transfer funds for final balances for the current budget.
Board members accepted a bid from Midwest Digital Systems for security cameras and a bid from Ferman Hostetler for repair and replacement of doors. It was noted that roof leaks in the vocational building are to be repaired in July.
High School Principal Phil Fox and Elementary Principal Darla Chapman gave reports, touching on graduation, senior trip, final testing, cheerleading, summer maintenance, summer school, awards days and other activities.
Board members approved a tuition waiver for Bradley and Jenny Youngs for the coming year and accepted an extra-curricular student activities policy regarding drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Bus routes were discussed as were facilities.
Service contracts were approved for Greg Terwilliger for occupational therapy training; Judy Stith for Parents as Teachers; and Nancy Edwards for speech. A service contract for the phone system for Grand River Telephone was discussed, with board members declining it. The purchase of a lunch accounting program was approved from STI.
An executive session was held to discuss personnel, with no announcement made.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. July 14.
