Lawrence Westergaard, a 76-year-old resident of Kansas City, died at 11:54 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at the Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Berry Cemetery, north of Galt. Wesley Meeker will officiate.
There is no visitation scheduled. Payne Funeral Home at Galt is handling arrangements.
Mr. Westergaard was born on Oct. 5, 1931 in Iowa, the son of Edward and Mary Edith Pierce Westergaard. He was married in 1965 at Omaha, NE to Shirley Ann Lavely, who preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2008. He served in the U.S. Navy for four years and worked most of his life as a construction worker.
Mr. Westergaard is survived by one son, Chris Westergaard of Kansas City; one grandson, Richard Westergaard of Kansas City; one brother, Jim Westergaard of Galt; and four sisters, Karen Richardson of Moberly, Mary Ann Gadberry of Shelbina, Joyce Baker of Barrington, NH and Carol Elliott of Anchorage, AK.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Walter Ray Westergaard.
