A total of 98 units was collected during a Community Blood Center blood drive held Monday at the Grundy County Senior Center. The goal was 95 units.
According to Carol Meyers of the Community Blood Center, a total of 107 persons registered to give blood at the drive, sponsored by the Wright Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, with nine deferred for various reasons. Through the new Community Stars Club Program, an elite club for communities and organizations that bring in 400 units or more, each person donating received a T-shirt. Trenton achieved the goal last year.
The next Community Blood Center blood drive is scheduled for Sept. 8.
