The Trenton Blue Jays traveled to Macon on Saturday and ran into some of the strongest pitching they will likely see all season long. Trenton was shut out twice as they fell 4-0 in game one and 11-0 in five innings in game two.
Blue Jays Swept In Macon
Ricky Wilson took the start on the hill for the Blue Jays in game one and allowed just one earned run. That was enough to give him the loss, however, as he moved to 1-1 on the season.
“I wasn’t disappointed with our performance,” Manager Doug Fairley said. “We played solid baseball; we just ran into tough pitching that we couldn’t do anything with.”
The Blue Jays managed only one hit in game one, that coming off the bat of Justin Joiner.
In game two, David Claycomb got the start pitching and went two innings. Claycomb took the loss, moving his record on the season to 1-1 as well. TJ Ireland and Chris Parsons also logged innings in the contest.
The Blue Jays dropped to 2-2 on the season following the sweep. They will look to rebound on Wednesday night, however, when they travel to Unionville for a pair of match-ups.
