National Nursing Home Week is May 11-17 and both Sunnyview Nursing Home and Eastview Manor Care Center have scheduled several activities to mark the occasion.

Sunnyview will start its week on Friday with a Mother’s Day Tea at 2 p.m. Doris Ferguson’s piano students will perform for residents at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Other events scheduled include:
Sunday, May 11 – South Evans Church services at 2 p.m.
Monday, May 12 – Balloon release at 11 a.m.; carnival at 2 p.m.; performance by Fresh Anointing at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, May 13 – Baby show at 10 a.m.; entertainment by Charles and Martha at 2 p.m.; performance by the THS Marching Band at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 14 – Relay races at 10 a.m.; petting zoo at 2 p.m.; performance by the Boppin’ Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 15 – Pictures at 10 a.m.; beach volleyball at 2 p.m.; refreshments at 2:30 p.m.; ice cream party at 6:30 p.m.
Friday, May 16 – Variety show at 2 p.m.; performance by the Mennonite youth at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 17 – Performance by Mic-O-Say dancers at 2:15 p.m.
Events at Eastview Manor also start off on Friday with a Mother’s Day luncheon and tea at 11:30 a.m.. A daily devotional will be held each day at 9 a.m. Other activities include:
Sunday, May 11 (Mother’s Day) – coffee cart at 9:30 a.m.; Mother’s Day Trivia and sing-a-long at 1:30 p.m.; television at 6 p.m.
Monday, May 12 (Casual Day) – Balloon release in back parking lot at 9:30 a.m.; Sack lunch with lemonade at 11:30 a.m.; pie social in station 1 dining room at 1:30 p.m.; exercise class in station 1 dining room at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, May 13 (Rock and Roll Day) – Decorate for day’s activities at 9:30 a.m.; hot dog luncheon at 11:30 a.m.; church with Kerry Jennings at 1 p.m.; serve shakes at 1:30 p.m.; performance by 50’s dancers at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday (Slippers Day) – Exercise class at 9:30 a.m.; family reunion lunch and carry-in at 11:30 a.m.; Eastview Gang at 1:30 p.m.; performance by the J-Boys Singing Group at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 15 (Cowboy Day) – Care Plan meeting at 9:30 a.m.; ham and bean luncheon at 11:30 a.m.; poetry cowboy Ron Ratliff at 1:30 p.m.; a John Wayne movie with popcorn and juice at 6 p.m.
