James Roland Osborn, 61, died on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the North Kansas City Hospital, where he had been a patient a few days.

Services were held on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the Fayette First Baptist Church. Revs. Robert Simpson and Dennis Stephenson officiated. Burial was in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don and Dean Bartholomew, Dr. Richard Taylor, Ted Spayde, Carl Grigsby Jr. and Gardell Powell.
Mr. Osborn was born on March 4, 1947 in Louisville, KY, the son of Junior Jean and Nellie Mae Coats Osborn. He attended several elementary schools, graduated from Fayette High School in Fayette and Oklahoma Baptist University at Shawnee, OK, with honors. He received a master’s degree from North Texas State University in Denton,TX.
He was married on Aug. 19, 1969 to Roberta “Bobbie” Ann Bartholomew, who preceded him in death on May 20, 1996. He was a band teacher in the Birdville School District in North Richland Hills, TX for 23 years. He was also a professional photographer for six years with his own studio.
After his retirement, he served as a volunteer at the Bass Hall in Ft. Worth, TX. He was a member of the Glenview Baptist Church in Ft. Worth, TX.
He is survived by two sons, Allen and his wife, Lori, of Redlands, CA, and Andrew of Dallas, TX; his parents of Chillicothe; a sister, Marilyn Morrow and her husband, Gary, of Marshall; and many other relatives and friends.
