James Rhea, a 76-year-old Trenton resident, died at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Wright Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Rhea was born on Jan. 3, 1929 in Trenton, the son of Millard and Ruth McKinnon Rhea. He was married in Chillicothe on April 29, 1950 to Carolyn Austin, who preceded him in death on Jan. 13, 1989.
He served in the National Guard. He worked for REA and then went to work for Missouri Public Service, where he worked for 33 years before retiring and moving back to Trenton. He enjoyed woodworking, tinkering in his shop, helping others wire, square dancing, car rides and spending time with friends and family.
He was a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge, the Richmond Eastern Star and the First Christian Church of Trenton.
Mr. Rhea is survived by two daughters, Sheila Day and her husband, Randy, of Richmond, and Sheena Reynolds and her husband, Danny, of Kansas City; two sisters, Maridonna McKee of Chillicothe and Bonnie McNabb and her husband, Jack, of Trenton; three grandchildren, Anthony “A.J.” Day, Joseph Reynolds and Courtney Reynolds; one sister-in-law, Wilma Horn; one brother-in-law, Wayne Austin and his wife, Syliva; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one sister, Doris Boyle; and three brother-in-laws, Robert Boyle, Bill Horn and Robert McKee.
