Pirates Push Winning Streak To Five Games

The North Central Missouri College Pirates baseball team continued to boost its record as they captured three more wins over the weekend.
The Pirates’ swept a three-game series with the Central Methodist junior varsity, improving their record to 15-19 on the season. The three wins also extended the Pirates’ current winning streak to five games.

The series began with a doubleheader on Thursday. North Central took a close 6-5 win in game one and came back with another one-run win in game two, winning 8-7.
On the hill James Johndrow picked up the win in game one in a relief appearance, while Kyle Wampler took the win in game two in another relief appearance.
Game three of the series was held on Sunday. The Pirates made good in their bid for a sweep with an 11-3 win. Tyler Phillips started and picked up the win on the mound for the Pirates.
The Pirates’ offense was very strong throughout the entire series, scoring a total of 25 runs over the course of the three games.
Gus Durst continued to be the driving force in the Pirates’ lineup, hitting two home runs in the series. Brett Davidson, David Bliss and Adam Dubuque were also responsible for several of the Pirates’ runs in the series.
The Pirates will look to build off of their recent success on Tuesday when they travel to Lamoni, IA for a matchup with Graceland University.
