Monica Wilson Joins Lady Pirates

Monica Wilson, a senior at Gilman City High School, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at North Central Missouri College for Jenni Croy’s Lady Pirates next season.

The 5-3 guard finished her illustrious career at Gilman City with a school-record 1,650 career points. Wilson was an All-HDC Conference selection for all four years of her career and was selected to the all-district team three years. Wilson was a two-time AP all-state selection and a two-time MBCA all-district and all-state selection as well.
Wilson was named to the KAAN All-Star Team four years and was a KMZU Dream Team selection for two years. Wilson was also a Lions Club All-Star and was the team MVP for three seasons.
During Wilson’s four years with the Lady Hawks, Gilman City captured two district titles, a sectional title, three HDC Conference titles and three HDC Conference Tournament titles. Over Wilson’s four years, the Lady Hawks ran a record of 83-25, and had an HDC Conference record of 36-3.
Other activities for Wilson included National Honor Society and being named to the honor roll.
Wilson is the daughter of Tim and Wendy Wilson of Gilman City and is the first recruit announced by Coach Croy for the 2008-09 women’s basketball season.
