The Chillicothe Constitution-Tribune reported that the court made the decision last week. Washburn is accused of taking $180,000 from the estate of Edward Eli Loyd in Putnam County and $57,127 from the estate of Tracy Haynes in Livingston County. He has since been ordered to pay back money in both cases.
An investigation into the alleged actions for consideration of criminal charges being filed remains ongoing, according to the C-T.
Washburn received his license to practice law in Missouri in 2002 and in 2005 was elected city attorney for Chillicothe. He resigned from that position late last year.
