Gilbert “Bud” Layson, a 74-year-old resident of San Mateo, CA, died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in San Mateo.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in San Carlos, CA. Burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery at Melbourne.
Mr. Layson was born on Jan. 22, 1934 in Harrison County. He attended school in Trenton. He entered the Marines in 1954 and was stationed in Japan. He was a roofing salesman in the Bay Area for over 40 years.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel Layson; two daughters, Paula Layson and Judy Mandolfo; nine grandchildren; and four sisters, Pauline “Betty” Crum and Wanda Adams of California, Dorothy Lewis of North Carolina and Joyce Robins of Washington.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John.
The family suggests memorials to the Salvation Army or the charity of the donor’s choice.
