Robert “Dean” Herring, a 55-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Saint Luke’s Medical Center in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Chilicothe.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the funeral home. General visitation is under way until 9 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Herring was born on March 20, 1952 in Louisiana, MO, the son of Oscar H. and Mary E. Oliver Herring. He was a 1974 graduate of Truman University at Kirksville with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration. He was employed by General Adjustment Bureau until 1979, at which time he started a business partnership, H&N Adjustment. He served on the Grand River Health Systems Board of Directors for 15 years, serving as vice chairman. In his spare time he enjoyed breeding and raising horses and cattle. He was a volunteer leader of the 4-H Equestrians. He was a licensed private pilot since 1985. He was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church.
He was married on Oct. 25, 1975 at Bowling Green to Andrea Kay Knock, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters, Angela Kay Chow, and her husband, Dr. Frank Michael Chow, of Austin, TX, and Deanna Suzanne Herring of Houston, TX; two sisters, Margaret Gibb and her husband, Dave, of Piper City, IL, and Mary Lou Herring of Kansas City; and two grandchildren, Allison Marie Chow and Mia Ann Chow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Herring.
