Roy Joseph Mallett, an 88-year-old-resident of Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, died on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the care center. He was a former Laredo resident.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 19,2008 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Laredo. Burial will be at the Richardson Cemetery at Laredo.
There is no scheduled family visitation. Open visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mallett was born on Aug. 19, 1919 in Waterloo, IA, the son of Ralph and Gladys Ishmael Mallett. He was a 1937 graduate of Laredo High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross Award and an Air Medal for “meritorious achievement” during the invasion of southern France. He owned and operated Mallett’s Garage in Laredo for 55 years.
He is survived by one sister, Marjorie Olson of Laredo; one nephew, Larry Owens of Kansas City; three great-nephews, Corey Owens of Norfolk, VA, David Owens of Riverside and Christopher Owens of Kansas City; one great-niece, Amy Walker of Lathrop; and two great-great-nieces, Halee Walker of Lathrop and Autumn Owens of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Richardson Cemetery. They may be left at the funeral home in Laredo or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home at PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
