Jackson County Prosecutor Jim Kanatzar said Friday that Skyler Blattner, 21, of Lee’s Summit has been charged with financial exploitation of the elderly. Blattner, a former Trenton resident was arrested at his home on Wednesday.
Court documents say Blattner was a teller at a Kansas City bank in November when an elderly customer agreed to loan him $2,000.
Blattner allegedly wrote a counter check on the transaction for $165,000. Shortly after that, he resigned and went to work for another bank.
Suspicious of the transaction, the bank placed a hold on the account and the money was eventually returned to the victim.
