Funeral services for Maurice Prewitt will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Shelburne Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Shelburne Cemetery located southwest of Trenton.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Prewitt, a 67-year-old resident of the Hickory community, died at around 5 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2008 at the North Kansas City Hospital.
Mr. Prewitt was born on his grandmother’s farm in the Shelburne community on Feb. 9, 1941, the son of Loren and Marjorie Boyle Prewitt. He was raised in the Hickory community and graduated from Trenton High School. He was married on Nov. 2, 1963 at the Shelburne Baptist Church to Donnzetta Neff, who survives of the home.
He had worked for 29 years at Modine Manufacturing at Trenton and for the past four years he had been employed at Hudson Valley Polymers at Chillicothe. He also farmed and raised cattle in addition to mowing yards and doing yard work for various individuals in and around Trenton.
He had belonged to the Shelburne Baptist since he was nine years old.
Mr. Prewitt is survived by his wife, Donnzetta, of the home; three daughters, Lora Prewitt, Marla Prewitt and Michelle Persinger, all of Trenton; a grandson, Tyson Persinger; and a brother, Oliver Prewitt and his wife, Karen, of Trenton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family has suggested that memorials to the Shelburne Cemetery.
