Victor Foote, an 85-year-old long time resident of San Luis Obispo County, died on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital after a short illness. He was married to the former Janette McArtor Hutsell, who grew up in the Trenton community.

A memorial service will beheld at 2 p.m. on on Friday, March 28, 2008 at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park in Los Osos, CA.
Mr. Foote was born on June 11, 1922 in Casper, WY, the son of David and Myrtle Foote. He graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper in 1940 and went on to serve in the US Army as a surgical technician. After his time in the service, he worked as a photographer’s apprentice. He attended and graduated from the Fred Archer School of Photography in Los Angeles in 1949.
Mr. Foote owned a studio on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Studio Victor, and another studio in Casper, Foote Photos. He also played a role in history, holding a top security clearance and photographing events in White Sands and Albuquerque, NM and Kwajalein.
He married Janette McArtor Hutsell in 1975 in Casper. They opened Foote Photos, operating it until the couple retired in 1980 and sold the studio, moving to San Luis Obispo.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Janette; two sisters, Betty Ray of Casper and Beverly Harris of Denver, CO; a nephew, David Foote of Las Vegas, NV; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David; and his sister, Vivian.
