Howard Terhune, a 90-year-old retired longtime farmer from the Brimson community, died at his home at 2107 Madison St. in Trenton at 10:35 p.m. on Tuesday March 4, 2008 while under hospice care.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
There is no scheduled family visitation planned.
Mr. Terhune was born on May 2, 1917 at Melbourne, the son of Arthur and May McLey Terhune. He was raised in the Melbourne and Brimson communities. He was married at Atchison, KS on Jan. 18, 1945 to Elsie E. Shirley, who preceded him in death on Oct. 2, 1993. They lived and farmed all their married lives in the Brimson community. Mr. Terhune moved into Trenton in 2000 to make his home.
He was a member of the Baptist Church and the IOOF.
Mr. Terhune is survived by a daughter, Janey, now Mrs. Gilbert Dowding of Lee’s Summit; a son, Keith Terhune and his wife, Mary of Lee’s Summit; two sisters, Dorothy Mullins of Trenton and Ellen Miller of Chillicothe; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five sisters and four brothers.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be left to either the Wright Memorial Hospice or the charity of choice.
