Schuett told about work on the Sesquicentennial Park at Five Points, which will include a gazebo, sidealks, park benches and several types of landscaping. It is hoped the gazebo can be used for peformances in the summer and at Christmas. The park department will be installing eight memorial benches, which are being purchased by organizations and/or individuals. At least two have already been purchased. It is hoped the park will be open by the summer.
The club voted to help the Meraz family, who lost their home to a fire on Wednesday night. A list of sizes for the family was passed around to members.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, Feb. 28 with Gary Hurst and Barb Hawkins as the program chairman.
