Julia M. Hickman, a 78-year-old resident of Spickard, died on Thursday morning, Feb. 21, 2008 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2008 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Rev. Harry Clifton will officiate. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at Slater Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hickman was born on July 14, 1929 in Spickard, the daughter of John Arthur and Emma May Douglas Merrill. She graduated from Spickard High School in 1947. She was a life-long resident of Spickard area and was also a farmer.
She was a member of Spickard Baptist Church in Spickard and attended the First Assembly Of God Church in Trenton.
She was married on April 11, 1947 at Princeton to Coleman R. Hickman, who survives of the home.
She is also survived by two sons, Allen Hickman and his wife, Brenda, of Lee’s Summit and Aaron Hickman of the home; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father parents.
