Martha J. Stuart, an 80-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Wednesday morning, Feb. 20, 2008 at Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Ron Ward officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mrs. was born on Aug. 5, 1927 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Hubert Otto and Ina Doris Ellis Stevens. She attended Spickard Schools and graduated from Trenton High School. She also graduated from the Trenton Junior College, where she received her licensed pratical nurse degree. She lived in Spickard before moving to Trenton. She worked for Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton for 33 years before retiring.
She was a member of Tenth Street Baptist Church in Trenton.
She was married at Chillicothe on June 11, 1965 to Hershel Stuart, who preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1993.
She is survived by three sons, Clarence Wayne Stevens and his wife, Barbara, of Burlison, TN, Robert “Bob” Ellis Jr. and his wife, Bernadine, of Trenton, and Don Smith and his wife, Alice, of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Catherine Stevens; one brother, Wayne Stevens; and one son, Larry Miller.
